WhatsApp QR code with QR Studio
The code opens a WhatsApp chat with the number you enter and can pre-fill the first message. It uses the standard wa.me link, so it works on any phone with WhatsApp installed.
- Enter the number with the country code and no plus sign or spaces, for example 15551234567.
- Write the message you want pre-filled, or leave it empty.
- Test the code with a second phone before you print it.
- Download the PNG or SVG.
What to know
The code stores a wa.me link: https://wa.me/ followed by the number in international format, and optionally ?text= and your message. Scanning it opens WhatsApp with a chat to that number and the message typed, ready to send.
Use the full international number without the plus, zeros or dashes. A common mistake is leaving out the country code or keeping a leading zero, which opens a chat with the wrong number or fails. Check the result by scanning the code with a phone that is not yours: the chat should open with your business name or number at the top.
This is a normal code, so the number is baked in. If you change numbers, the printed code stops pointing to the right person. If that might happen, or you want to count how many people scan the poster, make a trackable code that points at your wa.me link and can be edited later.
