What Cardsmith does
Design a social preview image once, then get a URL that renders it for every page and blog post.
When someone shares your link on X, LinkedIn, Slack or Discord, the preview image decides whether they click. Most sites show a generic logo on every page, or nothing at all, because making a separate image for each post is tedious.
Cardsmith fixes that with one design. Pick a layout and colours, save the template, and you get an image URL. Add ?title= with the page title and Cardsmith renders a matching 1200 × 630 card. Put that URL in your og:image tag and every page gets its own preview automatically.
Designing and downloading single images is free. Rendered URLs are free for one template at 100 renders a day with a small badge. Pro is $9 a month: no badge, 20 templates and 10,000 renders a day. Each distinct URL is rendered once and then served from the CDN.

Is Cardsmith free?
Yes, with no account and no install. The free plan includes: Four layouts with live preview, your title, subtitle, label, site name and colours; Download the 1200 × 630 PNG; 1 saved template with its own image URL: add ?title= for any page; 100 renders a day per template, cached by the CDN, with a small "Made with Cosmovex" badge; and 1 more. Pro ($9/mo, billed monthly, cancel anytime) adds: No badge on rendered images; 10,000 renders a day per template; 20 saved templates.
Does Cardsmith upload my data?
Saved templates (layout, colours and the default text) are stored in Google Firebase in the United States so the image URL can render them, along with a daily render counter. Designing and downloading a PNG happens in your browser. Delete a template to remove it. See the Privacy Policy for retention and deletion.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Open the page and start working. It works on desktop and mobile browsers.
How does the Pro licence work?
Pro is a monthly subscription handled by Dodo Payments (our merchant of record). You receive a licence key by email and paste it under "Have a key?" inside the tool. One key works on up to 3 browsers.
What is an OG image?
The Open Graph image is the picture shown when a link is shared on social media and chat apps. It is set with a meta tag, og:image, in your page's head. The recommended size is 1200 × 630 pixels.
How do dynamic OG images work here?
You save a design once and get a URL like tools.cosmovexapps.com/og/<id>.png. Add ?title=Your%20post%20title (and optionally subtitle, label and site) and the image is rendered with that text. Use your page title in the URL inside your og:image tag.
Will this slow my site down?
No. Crawlers fetch the image, not your visitors. Each distinct URL is rendered once and then cached by the CDN.
What happens over the daily limit?
The image still renders, so previews never break, but it carries the badge and is cached only briefly. Pro raises the limit to 10,000 renders a day per template.
Is Pro a subscription?
Yes, $9 a month because images are rendered on our servers. Cancel any time from the Pro panel; free templates keep working.
