Avery 5160 with Labelsheet
This page opens on Avery 5160 / 8160 sheets (30 labels of 1 x 2⅝ inch, 3 across and 10 down on US Letter) with a numbered series. There is no template to download: the PDF already has every barcode at the label positions, so you print it straight onto the sheet.
- Set the series (text before, first number, how many and digits) or switch to Paste a list.
- Keep Avery 5160 / 8160 selected on the Labels tab; any sheet with the same layout works, such as 5960 or 18160.
- If some labels on the sheet are used, set Start at label to the first empty one.
- Download the PDF and load the sheet the way your printer feeds labels (usually face up in the manual tray).
- Print at 100% or Actual size; Fit to page shrinks the sheet and every label drifts off its position.
What to know
Avery 5160 has a half-inch top margin, a 3/16 inch side margin and 1/8 inch between columns, so the three columns are 2.75 inches apart. Those numbers are built into the layout here. Most alignment problems come from the print dialog rather than the sheet: a PDF viewer set to Fit to page scales the page by a few percent, and by the bottom row the labels are a few millimetres off. The PDF asks viewers to print at 100%, but check the setting the first time.
A 1 inch high label leaves room for a Code 128 barcode, the code as text and one title line. When a label cannot hold the barcode and all the text lines at a scannable size, the preview says how many lines were left out, and the barcode keeps its height. On this size, a QR code sits on the left with the text beside it.
If your printer shifts every label by the same distance, use Printer alignment to move the whole sheet in half-millimetre steps rather than editing the layout. The nudge is applied to every label at once, so one test print on plain paper is usually enough to line up a whole box of sheets.

Questions
Is Avery 8160 the same as 5160?
Yes for layout: 8160 is the inkjet version of the same 30-label sheet. 5960, 18160 and 18660 share it too.
How many characters fit in a Code 128 barcode on 5160?
About 20 characters still scan reliably at this width. Longer codes are drawn narrower; past that, use QR.
Do I need the Avery template file?
No. The PDF is already laid out to the sheet, so print it directly.
Can I print only some labels?
Yes. Use Start at label to skip used labels at the start of the sheet.
The free plan covers everything on this page. Labelsheet Pro ($5/mo, billed monthly) is described on the Labelsheet page.
