Scan barcodes and QR codes with your phone camera into a list with quantities and notes, then export CSV or Excel or share it. No app, no account.
Scanlist turns a phone into a barcode scanner that writes a spreadsheet. Tap Start scanning, point the camera at a code, and it beeps and appears in the list with its type, a quantity and a time. Scan the same item again later and the quantity goes up by one, or switch to a new row for each scan. Add a note to any row, then export a CSV for Google Sheets, an Excel file, or send it straight from the share sheet.
It is made for counts that happen away from a desk: a stockroom shelf, a box of books for resale, an office asset audit or the door of an event. Codes are kept exactly as read, so a UPC with a zero at the start or a 13-digit ISBN arrives in Excel as text, never as 9.78E+12. On a desktop it works with a webcam or with a USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner that types into the page.
Everything runs in your browser: the camera feed and the codes are never uploaded, and the list is saved on this device so a reload never loses a count. Free covers 3 exports a day of up to 25 rows. Pro removes the limits and adds named lists, custom columns, continuous scanning, a GPS column and a compare against expected stock. Product names are not looked up: the list holds the codes you scan.

Does Scanlist upload my data?
No scanned codes, camera images or lists. The camera feed and every code stay in your browser and the list is saved only on this device. When you export, the page sends a random ID for this browser, a one-way hash of your network address and the number of rows, so the free limit can be applied; these counters are deleted after 2 days. Do I need to install anything?
No. Open the page and start working. It works on desktop and mobile browsers.
How does the Pro licence work?
Pro is a monthly subscription handled by Dodo Payments (our merchant of record). You receive a licence key by email and paste it under "Have a key?" inside the tool. One key works on up to 3 browsers.
Do I need to install an app?
No. Scanlist runs in the phone browser (Chrome on Android, Safari on iPhone) and on a desktop with a webcam or a USB scanner. After your first export you can add it to the home screen so it opens like an app.
Will Excel turn my barcodes into 9.78E+12?
Not with the XLSX export: every code is written as a text cell, so zeros at the start and 13-digit ISBNs stay intact. A CSV holds the exact digits too, but Excel converts long numbers when you double-click a CSV, so choose XLSX for Excel. Google Sheets import keeps them when you turn off "Convert text to numbers".
Which barcodes can it read?
EAN-13 (including ISBN), EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39, ITF, QR, Data Matrix and PDF417. Damaged, very small, glossy or curved labels can fail; use the light, move closer, or type the code. A UPC-A is always saved as its 12 digits, whichever reader saw it.
Does it look up product names?
No. There is no licensed product database behind it, so the list holds the codes you scan, the quantity, the time and your notes. Add a description in the note field or join the codes to your own product sheet.
What happens if I reload the page or the battery dies?
The list is saved on the device after every scan and edit. Open the page again and press Continue to carry on with the same count. Clearing the browser's site data deletes it, so export before you do.
