Barcode labels on Avery L7160 A4 sheets, 21 per sheet

Avery L7160 (A4) with Labelsheet

This page opens on Avery L7160 (A4, 21 labels of 63.5 x 38.1 mm, 3 across and 7 down) with a parts list. L7159, L7163 and L7651 are in the same list for 24, 14 and 65 labels per A4 sheet.

  1. Paste a parts or stock list from your spreadsheet, or number a series.
  2. Keep L7160 selected, or pick L7159, L7163 or L7651 for other A4 layouts.
  3. Download the PDF and load the A4 sheet into the printer.
  4. Print at 100% or Actual size; Fit to page shrinks the sheet and every label drifts off its position.

What to know

L7160 labels are 38.1 mm tall, which leaves room for a barcode, the code as text and two more lines: a title and, on Pro, a column from your list such as the part description. The layout uses the published sheet geometry, a 15.15 mm top margin and columns 66.04 mm apart, and the PDF page is exactly A4, so a printer set to A4 at 100% puts every label in place.

Printers set to US Letter by default are the most common cause of A4 labels creeping down the sheet: the driver fits A4 onto Letter and shrinks it. Check the paper size in the print dialog the first time, and if every label is off by the same distance, use Printer alignment to move the whole sheet in half-millimetre steps.

Questions

Which A4 sheets are supported?

Avery L7160 (21), L7159 (24), L7163 (14) and L7651 (65). Pro adds any custom size on A4.

Are compatible sheets from other brands fine?

Yes, if they state compatibility with the Avery code; the layout is the same.

Can I put the part description on the label?

On Pro, other columns from a pasted table print as up to three text lines.

Why do my labels drift down the page?

The printer is probably set to Letter. Set the paper size to A4 and print at 100%.
