Photo 20-50 KB with Upload Fitter
This page opens with a Photo 20-50 KB rule, for forms that refuse a file that is too small as well as one that is too big. Choose a photo and the tool aims inside the range and shows the size it reached.
- Tap Choose photos and pick a recent, well-lit photo.
- The Photo 20-50 KB rule is selected; the badge shows the size when it is done.
- If the form also asks for a size in pixels or centimetres, set it in Custom.
- Download or share the JPG when the badge says Fits.
What to know
A size range is usually meant to stop two failures: a huge original that slows the system, and a tiny thumbnail that is useless. The tool counts the minimum as 1,024 bytes per KB and the maximum as 1,000 bytes per KB, so 20-50 KB means 20,480 to 50,000 bytes and the file passes either way of counting.
A small source photo can be under 20 KB even at top quality. The tool then enlarges it, up to twice its size, and tries again. If it is still too small, it says so; you can allow padding in Custom, which adds blank bytes that the image does not use, so the picture is unchanged and the file reaches the minimum.

Questions
Why does a range sometimes fail?
Rarely, no quality step lands inside a narrow range: one step is just over the maximum and the next just under the minimum. The tool tries finer steps and slightly different sizes first; if none lands, widen the range or allow padding in Custom.
Is padding allowed by forms?
Padding adds bytes in a comment section of the JPG that image readers ignore. Most size checks only look at the file size. Use it when a form needs a minimum and your photo is genuinely small.
Why is the file a little under the limit, not exactly on it?
Each try is a finished file. The tool keeps the highest JPEG quality whose file is at or under the maximum, so it usually lands a few kilobytes below it. It counts the maximum as 1,000 bytes per KB, the stricter reading, so the file also passes a form that counts 1,024.
Are my photos sent anywhere?
No. They are read and encoded in your browser. When you download or share, the page sends only a count request (a random ID for this browser and a one-way hash of your network address, deleted after 2 days) for the free daily limit.
The free plan covers everything on this page. Upload Fitter Pro ($9.50 until Oct 25, then $19, paid once) is described on the Upload Fitter page.
