Save attachments with Mail Opener
This opens a sample .msg with an invoice PDF and a photo attached, and goes straight to the attachment list. Open your own .msg to see its attachments with their real names and save them; images show a preview first.
- Open the .msg file you received.
- The attachment list shows each file with its name, type and size; images get a small preview you can tap.
- Save writes the file to your downloads; Share hands it to another app where the browser supports that.
- With Pro, Save all (.zip) puts every attachment in one archive, and an attached .msg can be opened in place.
What to know
Attachments are written exactly as they are stored in the .msg: the tool's tests compare the saved bytes with an independent reader (Python extract_msg) and they match. Long file names are used, not the 8.3 short names some tools fall back to, and file names with accents or non-Latin characters are kept. Images used inside the body (logos, signatures) are shown in the body and left out of the list, as mail apps do.
An email attached to an email, such as a forwarded message, is listed as an email. Pro opens it in place with its own attachments. Saving an HTML or SVG attachment always downloads it rather than opening it in the browser, so it cannot run in this page.

Questions
Why are some images missing from the list?
Images that the email body shows inline, such as a logo in a signature, are part of the body and not listed. They are included when you use Save all (.zip).
Can I save every attachment at once?
Yes, with Pro: Save all (.zip) writes one archive with every attachment, names made unique when two files share a name.
Are the files changed when saved?
No. The bytes are written as they are stored in the .msg.
Is my email uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read by the page in your browser. The only request to us is a count for the free daily limit, which carries a random ID for this browser and the kind of file, never the email, its subject, its sender or its attachments.
The free plan covers everything on this page. Mail Opener Pro ($9.50 until Oct 25, then $19, paid once) is described on the Mail Opener page.
