Jira backlog with Sprint Poker
The room is set up the way a Jira refinement looks: Fibonacci deck and six issues with Jira-style keys already in the backlog. Free: paste your own issues one per line ("WEB-311 Title") and the key is detected. Pro ($29 once): drop the CSV you export from a Jira filter instead, and export each key with its final estimate as CSV at the end.
- Type your name and press Enter. The room opens with the Fibonacci deck and six sample Jira issues; delete them from the backlog panel.
- Free: put each issue on its own line, key first, like "WEB-311 Remember the last selected workspace", and paste the lines into the backlog box. The key in front is detected (tabs or a colon after the key work too).
- Pro: in Jira, export the filter as CSV (current fields is enough) and drop the file onto the backlog. Issue key and Summary columns are found automatically.
- Share the room link. Up to 5 teammates vote in a free room (spectators unlimited); vote, reveal with R, discuss the outliers, set the final estimate and press N.
- At the end, copy the session summary as text (free), or with Pro choose Export session CSV from the room menu for Key, Title and Final estimate columns.
What to know
With Pro, Sprint Poker reads Jira exports by their column names: Summary becomes the title and Issue key the key. Other columns (Status, Assignee, Created and so on) are ignored, so an "all fields" export works as well as "current fields". Quoted summaries with commas, semicolon-separated files and files saved from Excel are all handled. Files over 5 MB are refused, so export just the issues for this session. On the free plan the same keys come in by pasting lines, which suits the 10 to 20 issues of a normal refinement.
This is not a Jira app and it does not connect to your Jira site. Nothing needs installing or approving by a Jira admin, and no Jira credentials are involved, but estimates are also not written back automatically. Free rooms show the final values on screen and copy the summary as text; the Pro session CSV puts each issue key next to its final value for a bulk update or for pasting into the Story Points field (called Story point estimate in team-managed projects).
Keys matter beyond the import. Stories estimated with an issue key are kept in this browser's session history, and with Pro the Calibration view can match those keys with a second Jira export containing cycle time, or Created and Resolved dates. That shows which estimates landed and which stories took far longer than their points suggested.
Jira Cloud limits a single CSV export to 1,000 issues by default, which is far more than one refinement needs. A good session is 10 to 20 issues; if the filter returns more, sort it by rank or priority and take only the top of the backlog. A free room seats 5 voters; a larger group can join as spectators, or the facilitator can use Pro for up to 1,000 voters.

Questions
Do I need to install anything in Jira?
No. You paste issues or, with Pro, drop a CSV exported from a Jira filter. Sprint Poker never connects to your Jira site and asks for no Jira login or API token.
Is the Jira CSV import free?
No. Pasting issues one per line is free and detects keys like WEB-311. Importing a Jira CSV file, and exporting the session as CSV, are part of Pro ($29 once for the facilitator). Dropping a CSV on a free room opens the upgrade instead of importing.
Which Jira columns does the CSV import use?
Summary for the title and Issue key for the key. Everything else in the export is ignored. If your file has no Summary or Title column, the import says so instead of guessing.
Can it write story points back to Jira automatically?
No. Free rooms show the final values and copy the summary as text. With Pro, the session CSV lists Key, Title and Final estimate for a bulk update. Being read-only towards Jira is why nothing needs approving by an admin.
What does the free plan include for my team?
Unlimited rooms and rounds, up to 5 voters per room plus any number of spectators, the four built-in decks, pasted backlogs, hidden votes, reveal stats and the countdown. Free rooms are deleted 7 days after last use.
The free plan covers everything on this page. Sprint Poker Pro ($29, paid once) is described on the Sprint Poker page.
