Blog posts with Cardsmith
The editor opens with a blog card. Save it, then give every post an image URL with its title. It works on any platform that lets you set og:image, including WordPress, Ghost and static sites.
- Set your colours and site name and save the template.
- Copy the URL and add ?title= with the post title, URL-encoded.
- Put that URL in your platform's social image field, or in an og:image meta tag.
- Share a post and check the preview.
What to know
Posts shared without an image get a bare text link, and on LinkedIn, Slack and X the large image is most of the preview. Making one image per post by hand in a design tool takes minutes per post; most blogs end up reusing one generic image.
A template URL makes a matching card for every post automatically. The title comes from the URL, and the colours, layout and site name come from your saved design, so every card looks consistent without opening a design tool.
On WordPress, set the URL as the social image in your SEO plugin, or add the meta tag in the theme. On Ghost, add it in code injection or the theme. Static site generators can build the URL from the post title in the layout.
