Redact a PDF, no sign-up with PDF Redact
This opens a contact sheet at 100 DPI with the draw tool active. There is no account, nothing to install and no watermark on the output. Draw a box, export and read the check report.
- Choose a PDF, or use the sample that is already open.
- Drag a box over each thing to remove; use Undo if a box lands wrong.
- Go to Export and check, pick 100 DPI for a small file or 150 for sharper text.
- Create the PDF, read the report and download it.
What to know
The free version does not ask for an email, does not add a watermark and does not limit how often you can use it. The limit is the size of the job: up to 10 pages per file. That is enough for a letter, a form, a short statement or a contract page set.
A lower resolution makes a much smaller file and is fine for reading on screen; printed small text may need 150 or 200 DPI. The default is 150. Because the output is made of images, it can be several times larger than the original text PDF; choose the JPEG image setting to keep it small.
Nothing is stored on our servers. Your last resolution and image format choice are remembered in this browser only, and a file you open is dropped from memory when you close or reload the tab, so nothing of it stays behind on this device either.

Questions
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The PDF is opened and processed in your browser tab. Pages are drawn, redacted and written there, and the file is never sent to our servers. We only measure which buttons are used, never the content of a file.
Is there a watermark on the output?
No. The output is your pages as images with your boxes on them and nothing added.
What is the limit of the free version?
Files of up to 10 pages. Manual boxes, text search, built-in patterns and the checks after export are all included. Pro adds longer files, saved rule sets, batches and higher resolution.
What do I lose when the output is made of images?
Text in the whole output can no longer be selected, searched or copied, links and form fields stop working, and the file is usually larger. That is the cost of making sure the covered content is really gone, and the tool says so before you export.
