Reads the page once, the same way a check does, and shows what Pagewatch would watch. Nothing is saved.
Why: your browser only lets Pagewatch fetch a site's pages after you allow that site. Only the one site you are watching is requested, and you can remove it any time in the browser's extension settings.
How often
Checks only run while the browser is open. Pagewatch has no server.
Use this only if a plain check cannot see the content (the site builds it with JavaScript). Each check briefly opens the page in a tab that you will see in the tab strip, runs the page's own scripts (so the site may count a visit and load its ads and trackers), and takes several seconds. It is not a hidden window.
Ignore the noise (fewer false alarms)
Ignore the start or the end of the watched text
Alert only if
Small changes that stay below the limit are not lost: they keep counting against the last version you were alerted about.
